St. George Utah Vacation Rentals St. George is a place with many things to offer.  One of the greatest is the natural scenic wonders that abound in the area. Places like Zion National Park, Snow Canyon State Park, Kolob Fingers of Zion (Zion East Entrance), Pine Valley Mountain, The Virgin River Gorge, Red Cliffs Recreation Area, Ivins Petroglyphs, Quail Lake State Park, Gunlock State Park, Silver Reef, and many other locations are just waiting for your exploration.
Zion National Park: This is the crown jewel of the region. Click here to learn more.
Snow Canyon State Park: It's so close and offers so much. White and red sandstone formations with lava flows cascading over ledges and across the open valley. Click here for more information
Fingers of Kolob: The East entrance of Zion National Park is spectacular and can be found just north of St. George on Interstate-15. If you're headed that direction it is definitely worth the extra 1/2 hour to take the scenic drive. Hold your hand in front of you and imagine the spaces inbetween your fingers are deep canyons. That's what you'll see here, the deep canyons carved between huge sandstone fingers.
Pine Valley Mountain: Rsiing over 10,000 feet above sea level, this mountain serves as a backdrop to St. George and is a prime source of water from winter snow melt. Pine Valley is a scenic location on the northwest side of the mountain and is home to cabins, campgrounds and many trails that ascend to the wilderness area at the top of the mountain. In the valley is an old church (currently under renovation) that was built by Ebenezer Bryce (for whom Bryce Canyon was named). Bryce was a ship builder and constructed the church in the form of an upside-down ship. It worked well enough to keep it standing over 100 years later.
Virgin River Gorge: To make travel to Las Vegas and California much faster, a road was constructed (now I-15) through this gorge. The Arizona BLM has re-introduced Big Horn Sheep into the area and you may catch a glimpse of these majestic animals on the road side or straddling a ridge. The Virgin River carves it way through the gorge and there are many places for exploration for the hearty adventurer.
Red Cliffs Recreation Area: Just minutes north of St. George near the town of Leeds and Silver Reef is a scenic red rock canyon which has been carved from snow-melt streams that flow from Pine Valley mountain. It is a magical little place that is enjoyable in its exploration and exciting for the playful. You have to see it to believe. One of our favorite places to recommend to visitors.
